THE STORY OF MY LIFE

THE STORY OF MY LIFE

My life is like an open book, its pages hold within
All that I would want to be and all that’s yet to come.
Its pages are creased and torn,
where times have been so hard
And some pages are tear-stained where I might have cried.
As time ticks by and pages turn and chapters turn to years,
And fewer pages still remain and fewer still the years.
I cannot retell or start again the story of my life.
I cannot rewrite the parts that led to plots
That didn’t turn out right.
The villains remain the villains,
The cads remain the cads.
The friends remain the cherished ones,
The pages not ripped out.
The theme of love runs through my book,
As rivers, brooks and streams
The reason why decisions made
The reason for those tears.
When pages turn towards The End
And my story is complete,
I’ll close the Story of My Life
And finally will sleep.

JUMPING GOLDFISH

My wonderful daughter has asked me to participate in a FB challenge, a painting or drawing a week for an entire year.  The subjects are set and we have to produce our work to a very tight schedule.  This week is Vietnam

This painting is done in oils.

Wednesday the subject will change to structure, this is my offering for the next challenge.
